Strain elected treasurer of SASDA
July 9, 2010
Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain, D.M.V., was elected treasurer of the Southern Association of State Departments of Agriculture (SASDA) at the organization’s annual meeting in June.
The post is a one-year term.
“I’m honored to be a part of SASDA and to serve as treasurer,” Strain said. “As Southern agriculture leaders, we face many similar problems. This year is no exception; every agriculture department is wrangling with budgetary challenges. There’s great camaraderie amongst the SASDA members that facilitates information sharing and problem solving.”
SASDA is a regional arm of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA). SASDA is comprised of top agriculture officials from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Virgin Islands and West Virginia.
