Notice of Intent filed with State Register (LAC 7:XV.127 – Citrus Greening Quarantine)

LDAF has filed a notice of intent with the State Register giving public notice that the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, pursuant to the authority set forth in R.S. 3:1652, intends to amend LAC 7:XV.127 by expanding a previously established quarantine for the following pests: citrus greening disease (“CG”), also known as Huanglongbing disease of citrus, caused by the bacterial pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter spp.  The existing quarantine presently includes the parishes of Orleans, Washington, and Jefferson. This proposed rule expands the quarantine to include St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parishes.

Interested persons may submit written comments, data, opinions, and arguments regarding the proposed Rule. Written submissions must be directed to Ansel Rankins, Director of Horticulture & Quarantine Programs, Department of Agriculture and Forestry, 5825 Florida Blvd., Suite 3002, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806 and must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 10, 2019.
