NOTICE – Notice of Intent filed with State Register (LAC 7:XV.169 – Roseau Cane Scale Quarantine)

LDAF has filed a notice of intent with the State Register giving public notice that the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, pursuant to the authority set forth in R.S. 3:1652, intends to amend LAC7:XV.167 by expanding a previously established quarantine for the following pests: roseau cane scale (“RCS”), Nipponaclerda biwakoensis. This proposed rule codifies the existing emergency rule and establishes a quarantine on regulated articles that are susceptible to infestation by RCS in designated geographical areas, set forth in the text of the proposed rule.

Interested persons may may submit written comments, data, opinions, and arguments regarding the proposed Rule. Written submissions must be directed to Ansel Rankins, Director of the Horticulture Commission, Department of Agriculture and Forestry, 5825 Florida Blvd., Suite 3002, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806 and must be received no later than 12:00 p.m., on June 10, 2018.
