Flood Water and Fuel Quality
March 10, 2016
Baton Rouge, La. (March 10, 2016) – Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain, D.V.M., says sometimes after a flood, water can compromise the tanks that hold the fuel. Strain says once the water recedes, fuel inspectors with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry Weights and Measures division will spot check those fuel tanks for water.
“We will take this precautionary measure to hopefully prevent any vehicles from being damaged in the event flood water seeps into the tanks,” said Strain.
Motorists who believe they have fuel quality issues after the flood are asked to call 800-247-1086 to report the issue.
