Accepting applications for Organic cost-share rebate program

Baton Rouge, La. (June 29, 2016) – Louisiana Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain, D.V.M., said Louisiana agricultural producers with USDA organic certification may qualify for reimbursement for their certification costs through a cost share rebate program.

The program will reimburse up to 75 percent of certification costs, or up to $750 per year per certification category. The rebates are available to cover certification expenses incurred between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016.

Applications must be received by close of business (4:30 p.m.) Aug. 15, 2016.

The program is funded through USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS).

The 2016 cost share application is available at Reimbursements will be on a first-come, first-served basis, based on receipt of the completed application packet, until available funding is exhausted.
