  • Motor fuels
  • Metrology
  • Scale, taxi meter, and flow meter inspections
  • Package inspections
  • Scanners and price verification inspections

The division prioritizes the investigation of consumer complaints. Examples of consumer complaints include the following:

  • If someone feels that they have been overcharged
  • If the quantity of a product that they purchased was misrepresented, or
  • If the motor fuel they bought is contaminated by water or particulate matter

With the help of consumer complaints, problems have often been brought to the attention of the division, leading to the prosecution of companies for overcharging or inaccurate weighing or measuring practices. These reports further the division’s mission of ensuring that equity prevails in the marketplace.

Complaints can also be reported to the Office of Agro-Consumer Services Division of Weights and Measures at 1-800-247-1086 during regular business hours.
