Industrial Hemp Orientation Meetings Scheduled

Baton Rouge, La. (November 22, 2019) – The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF)  is hosting free, voluntary, regulatory orientation meetings to assist those persons interested in cultivating, processing and transporting industrial hemp in Louisiana.

“Anyone interested in obtaining a license to cultivate, process or transport industrial hemp in Louisiana is encouraged to attend,” said Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Mike Strain, D.V.M.

Topics of discussion will include but are not limited to: License requirements through the LDAF, seed acquisition, cultivation, processing and transportation regulations and requirements.

The orientation meetings will be held on Dec.16, 17 and 18, and Jan. 8 and 10 with two sessions offered each day (morning and afternoon). Additional meetings will be scheduled as needed. The location is LDAF Headquarters at 5825 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70806.

The LDAF is the regulatory agency for the Industrial Hemp Program. The LDAF is not affiliated with any company or organization that is providing services outside of the LDAF’s regulatory role.
